Bangkok is a huge city that can be overwhelming at times. It’s always nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city for awhile – especially if you’re on vacation. After the Rain Coffee and Gallery is located just about an hour outside of the city of Bangkok. Trust me – you simply can’t miss this hidden gem. After the Rain is stunning and will definitely help you unplug and reset from the busyness of Bangkok.
If heaven were a cafe it would 100% be After the Rain Coffee and Gallery. This place is like nothing you’ve ever seen. It’s a full cafe with food and seating tucked away inside of a mini jungle oasis.
Don’t get me wrong the view is stunning – but the food is equally amazing. The menu boasts pages of delectable juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, appetizers and full courses. Some of the items that caught my eye were the Thai wings and Pad Thai. Ultimately I decided to go with the Thai-style fruit salad and the Apple Mint Tea. Every bite and sip were fantastic! Just like most things in Thailand, my meal was very inexpensive. My two items totaled 200 Baht or $5.78 USD.
The experience at After the Rain Coffee and Gallery doesn’t end with your meal. Once you’re done eating you can take gorgeous photos in a boat along the cafe’s canal. If you’re feeling up to it – you can canoe along the canal too!
Pro-tip: Rowing is harder than it looks. If possible, bring a buddy along for some extra muscle power and to help take some cute photos. Believe me, you’re going to want ALL the photos because this place is beautiful. The perk of After the Rain Coffee and Gallery is if you purchase a drink or meal, canoeing along the canal is free. On the flip side of things, if you don’t purchase anything you’ll have to pay 100 Baht or $2.89 USD
If canoeing isn’t your thing or if you’re too full from your meal, don’t worry. There’s also a swing that overlooks the cafe’s stunning canal. It’s super fun and totally made me feel like a kid again.
How to Get There
After the Rain Coffee and Gallery is located about an hour outside of the central part of Bangkok. You can reach this beautiful destination by vehicle or bus.
If you’re traveling by bus do your research first on the exact route. Transit Bangkok is a great resource to help you plan your trip.
If you’re not driving your own vehicle don’t worry, the Grab App is incredible. It works just like Uber or Lyft. There are plenty of drivers to take you to After the Rain Cafe and back to Bangkok.
I personally used Grab to get here. Initially I was a little afraid I wouldn’t be able to get a ride back to Bangkok, due to being an hour outside of the city. I’m happy to report, booking a Grab was a breeze. A driver picked me up less than 10 minutes after requesting the ride.
