Let’s Eat: Absolute Must Visit Restaurants in Chiang Mai, Thailand

I absolutely love to eat and I love Thailand – it’s a match made in heaven. Today we’re talking all things Chiang Mai, when it comes to delicious eats. The options are endless and sometimes the choices can be overwhelming. To make things easier here’s my absolute must visit restaurants in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

MILD

First on my list of the absolute must visit restaurants in Chiang Mai, Thailand is Mild. Personal opinion – Mild has the absolute best Mango and Sticky Rice in all of Chiang Mai. It’s hands down delicious. This restaurant is located in the heart of the Old City on 24 Sripoom Road, Soi. 1. Mild isn’t a one trick pony though. This restaurant also boasts incredible Thai food and vegan and vegetarian options.

NICE KITCHEN

Nice Kitchen is truly more than just its’ name – it should really be called Fantastic Kitchen! This restaurant is located about a 10 minute walk away from Mild in the Old City of Chiang Mai. You’ll find a plethora of food options here. The menu offers everything from authentic Thai dishes to classic American breakfast options and even Vietnamese dishes like Bahn Mi sandwiches. Nice Kitchen is a total win.

BLUE DIAMOND

When Blue Diamond comes to mind – my mouth instantly waters. I can not express how much I love this restaurant. This is your must visit breakfast staple in Chiang Mai above all else. This restaurant also has incredible freshly baked goods and tasty vegan options. Outside of breakfast food – the Papaya Salad here is to die for!

PULCINELLA DA STEFANO

Pulcinella de Stefano is an amazing choice for those looking to step outside of the Thai food zone for awhile. This restaurant has been in business since 1996 and knows how to do Italian – properly. The pasta is freshly made and the seared duck is an absolute must! On top of this, the wine list is immaculate.

GRAPE WINE BAR

Grape Wine Bar isn’t technically a restaurant – however I’d be amiss if I didn’t include it on this list. As much as I love Chiang Mai and Thailand, a good wine bar is a dime a dozen. On top of having an excellent wine list, Grape Wine Bar also has a solid food menu. Pro-tip: visit during happy hour for 2 for 1 drinks.

HONORABLE MENTION

When you think of Chiang Mai, Thailand the last thing on your mind maybe Turkish food. Please hear me out here – do not sleep on Little Istanbul. There is nothing small about the incredible dishes and flavors created from this restaurant. Little Istanbul was recommended by a friend while I was traveling abroad in Chiang Mai, Thailand winter 2023 . Trust – the ONLY reason there aren’t pictures attached to this restaurant is because everything was delicious and I inhaled everything so quickly. Must devour dishes include the hummus, cacik (or Turkish yogurt), the potato balls and finally the chicken shish kabob plate.Total chef’s kiss.
