Thai Massage – Breaking Down How It Can Help Heal Your Body

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me what Thai Massage is, I’d be a very wealthy woman. All jokes aside, you’re not alone if you’ve never heard of Thai Massage before.

What you probably have heard of is traditonal bodywork or massage which includes Swedish or Deep Tissue work. A typical massage is performed on a massage table and the client is tucked away beneath draping. The session itself is performed by a Licensed Massage Therapists’ hands or a massage tool with the intention to foster relaxation.

Enter Thai Massage. The intention is the same – to create deep relaxation and to relieve aches and pains. The method by which it’s done differs. Thai Massage is fully clothed work and is performed on a mat on the floor.  It combines several powerful techniques including: acupressure, yoga, stretching and massage to create a truly holistic massage experience.

I remember the very first time I received a Thai Massage. It felt intentional, holistic and powerful. The benefits of Thai Massage are vast and incredibly healing.
